Amber Garman is passionate about facilitating therapeutic work with children, teens, and individual adults, especially those interested in moving inward toward transformation. Growing up a local resident on the Central Coast, Amber attended California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo where she earned a Master of Science in Psychology with Distinction.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Amber describes her style of psychotherapy as client-centered and non-directive. Amber works with you to create spaces of safety where you the client are assisted in learning about yourself in meaningful ways, therefore leading to making meaningful change. Client-centered non-directive therapy is without advice-giving, interpretation, explanation, or providing solutions to client problems. The directive forms of psychotherapy Amber offers include Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). These directive psychotherapy treatment approaches are well suited for individuals looking to change their relationship with anxiety/fear, trauma, depression, grief, panic, phobia, obsessive-compulsive behavior, physical health conditions, and general functioning and well-being. Amber is a Level 1 IFS and ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) certified therapist.
Having had the opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals, Amber is experienced in delivering quality psychotherapy. Believing that each of us is born equipped with an inner self-led wisdom, Amber invites you into spaces to discover self-leadership, harmony, and balance.
